Revd. Rachel Borgars

Rachel took up her appointment in the Circuit in September 2016, having served for the previous fourteen years in Keynsham and latterly, with Nexus Methodist Church in Bath together with Bathampton and Box (Wiltshire). She trained for the ministry at the South East Institute for Theological Education on a part-time course.

She currently has pastoral oversight of the churches in Kingsclere, Newbury, Thatcham and Whitchurch.

A native of Huddersfield and proud of her northern roots, Rachel studied European Studies and French at the University of Kent at Canterbury and also met her husband, Martin, to whom she has been married for nearly forty years. Prior to entering fulltime ministry, Rachel worked for the Home Office in London in a variety of roles, which has provided some vital training in 'people skills' which she has made good use of as a presbyter.

The Borgars family is completed by an adult child, Chris, who has moved to Whitchurch with the family. Away from work, Rachel enjoys music, family history and supporting Bath Rugby.
